Our History

Longshore FCU was established in 1960 to provide financial services in a democratic, not-for-profit, cooperative manner. The original name was ILWU Local 24 Federal Credit Union and was chartered by members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 24. In 2006 a field of membership expansion included people in the “neighborhood” surrounding the credit union. At the same time, the name was changed to both honor its core sponsor group and represent the new members living and working “along the shore” of the Port of Grays Harbor. The official name became Longshore Federal Credit Union.

On August 3, 2016, we expanded our field of membership to serve the entire county of Gray’s Harbor.

As a member (depositor), you are an owner. There are no outside stockholders. The Board of Directors consists of members who have been elected to serve as volunteers by fellow members of the credit union.
